Counselling / Psychology / Mental Health
A counsellor provides a safe and confidential environment for you to share what is going on for you and to feel heard. Through the use of evidenced-based therapeutic techniques, you will be supported in working through the source of the problem you are dealing with so that you might move through, overcome, or learn to cope with the situation. Counselling will most likely involve education, skill development, self-exploration and emotional processing.
Formal Assessment & Report Writing
Formal Assessment can include clinical interview; administration of psychological tests or measures; behaviour observations; and collection of personal history, anecdotal information, or collateral information. Formal assessment informs a practical plan of action or provides information about a person’s mental health, emotional, cognitive, vocational, adaptive, educational, social or other aspects of developmental functioning. It may result in a diagnostic classification or the identification of strengths, weaknesses, and competencies, and the findings may be communicated verbally and/or in a written psychological assessment report.
Assessments offered include:
- Adult Psychoeducational Assessments (Experiencing difficulties with attention, focus, language, academics, social, and/or motor functioning in school or at work)
- Adult Neurodiversity Assessments (ADHD, Autism Spectrum, & Giftedness)
- Adult Psychological Assessments for Trauma/PTSD (Assessment designed to gather an in-depth understanding of the nature, timing, and severity of the traumatic events, the effects of those events, current trauma-related symptoms, and functional impairment.)
